This script is based on the story by Joseph Conrad.

Marlowe, the narrator of "Heart of Darkness" and "Lord Jim" is a mate on a doomed ship trying to bring coal to the far reaches of the British Empire.

After the ship is lost after a coal dust explosion, Marlowe and his beloved aged Captain Beard each find themselves in open boats trying to cross open ocean to save their lives and the lives of the crew.
